"Feathers" 2002 Mare 16 hands Black & White Pinto $5,000 Naturally a very gentle and sweet mare. Quick learner, EXCELLENT mover for a draft cross. Tacks well and stands for mounting. Walks/Trots/Canters and jumps 3'. Would excel as an eventing, foxhunting, dressage or pleasure/trail mount. Feathers has hunted 2 seasons as my "second mount" with the Fort Leavenworth Hunt Club, she's also been hunted by students. She'll stand quietly for a reverse field and only goes when you tell her to (no galloping off with the crew- she waits for your signal). VERY soft mouth, rides with a snaffle like a dream. Will NOT be a 1st field horse (big strided if you stretch her out, but has NO desire to run). More suited for a slower 2nd field or hilltopping. Rides out from the group alone, would also be an ideal mount for a whip. Why I'm selling: I purchased her in early 2008 with the intentions of putting 90 days on her and selling her; however instead I decided to keep her as a lesson horse and foxhunting mount for my students. She's done that for two years and I've since added several Quarter Horses (my focus) to my program, so I'd rather see her go to a home where she'd be loved and get more use. If I weren't focused on showing at the moment- I'd be breeding this gorgeous mare! *Information/video updated 4/20. *Located at THEC. Contact Amara for more information or to make an appointment to view.
April 2008 - SOLD *Pictures are of Comet at just a few hours old! He now has black points on his hocks and knees. "Comet" September 2007 Stud Colt Bay Pinto From Amara: "Comet came as a surprise gift from an AQHA mare I purchased. His dam is 14.2 hands and his sire 16.0 hands so he should mature to around 15.1 hands. He is registerable as a paint. Comet has a very nice trot and great athletic muscling. He is one of the best marked paints I have seen- flashy bay with 3 stockings and a high sock. His full brother could jump out of 4' fences as a yearling (I was thrilled to have him greet me at the house each morning, haha). Comet is very friendly and brave, he knows how to pick up his feet and is lightly halter broke." 4/04/08 SOLD - Congratulations to the Rodgers family!
