Jump to Article: THEC's first show! - Myler Bit & Purina Nutrition Seminar - American Royal Grand Prix Tally Ho Equestrian Centre's first show! April 12th, 2008 - With riders charged and horses sparkling clean the NKHA show at Ft. Leavenworth was CANCELED! In come Amara and Verna to the rescue... details to come next week when pictures (thanks Brenda!) of our very sucessful show are in :-) Myler Bits & Purina Nutrition Seminar February 18, 2008 - On a chilly Monday evening, Kansas Country Store of Leavenworth hosted a seminar by Myler Bits and Purina feeds. With 20 students and their families in attendance, Tally Ho Equestrian Centre made quite an appearance! The event started off with a delicious dinner and then a talk by Purina Feeds on feeding quality feed and how to tell good feeds vs. bad feeds. Myler Bits then gave a very informative talk on how different bits function in the horses mouth. There were several give away's and one student won a free subscription to Equus magazine. Special thanks to Kansas Country Store for hosting this informative event! November, 2007 - "Whoa!" Pretty much described the reactions of students and their families at this year's Roy E. Edwards Memorial Grand Prix. The Tally Ho crew kicked off the evening with dinner at the Legends then made their way in several cars to the American Royal. There's nothing quite like watching some of the countries top equines and equestrians ride gracefully over a course of huge jumping efforts! After words everyone was off to shop at some of the great shops with unique "horsey" goods. Trainer Amara Packwood then took some of the students into the stalling area to see a "behind the scenes" of a big "A" show. While she caught up with some old friends and trainers the students got a chance to see some top horses at rest for the night. They then moved to the hunter arena (empty for the night) where Amara taught them how to read the course on paper and then walk it themselves. Always a learning experience! The event was inspiring for all the blooming equestrians in attendance and everyone left the stands with some great memories (and some new goals, too)!
